Are you wondering what free office package to choose? An alternative to Microsoft Office may be, for example, LibreOffice from the Document Foundation. The LibreOffice package consists of six different office programs that are able to replace a paid solution with dignity. It includes the programs Writer (word processor), Calc (spreadsheet), Impress (creating presentations), Base (databases), Draw (diagrams), Math (mathematical, physical and chemical equations). The open source, multi-platform set of programs has just been released. What changes have been made in LibreOffice 6.3?
LibreOffice 6.3 debuts exactly six months after the release of Libre Office 6.2. During this time only minor updates were released, which we tried to inform you about. The most important changes relate to even more efficient and stable operation, support for more formats of various documents and several other interesting improvements.
The new version of the office suite means, above all, even better cooperation with Microsoft Office files. The programs support exporting files to DOTX and XLSX formats, importing charts from drawingML groups in DOCX, as well as importing and exporting SmartArt elements from PPTX files.
Writer and Calc have to save large files much faster, support different types of bookmarks in text files, and load and render Calc files from VLOOKUP in advance. Support for really large ODS / XLSX files has also been improved. New is the support of the PDF / A-2 standard, which allows you to export PDF files more effectively. From now LibreOffice also allows you to hide or automatically delete selected information about a file at the stage of its sharing.
A long-awaited Fourier analysis also appeared in Calc, allowing to calculate a discrete Fourier transform based on data tables. Many will be glad to hear that changing the size of a cell with graphics anchored will cause the size of the graphics.
