The media noticed that the users LastPass complained en masse that serious problems have been observed in the work of the password manager for several days. Messages of this kind can be found on Reddit, Downdetector, on Facebook and Twitter, as well as on company forums. The problem for home and corporate users was the same: when trying to log in to LastPass, it reports that an error occurred while accessing the server and recommends that you try again later. Of course, password auto-completion has stopped working because of this.

@LastPass since three days I can't log-in, getting message "An error has occurred while contacting the LastPass server. Please try again later.". The best part is that LP says everything is ok: https://t.co/Ad4SJvOiFj
No information, no help, sad ??

You’re right. I’m giving them until tomorrow. If they don’t respond I’m cancelling my acct and starting the arduous task of rebuilding my password management on 1Password. I think LastPass was bought by LogMeIn. The quality of their service has dropped unbelievably. https://t.co/a9p80irXbM

At the same time, the victims accused the developers that the LastPass support service either did not answer them at all, or claims that the company had no technical problems. Some annoyed users noted that after this their trust in the password manager was undermined and it was time to think about “moving” to competitors.
In the evening of January 20, 2020, after a number of publications in the media, the developers still drew attention to the problem and made an official statement, also updating status page. Currently, LastPass specialists report that the problem was limited to a very small number of users and arose after a recent release. Currently, the bug has already been fixed on the side of developers, and users do not need to take any measures.
