The developers of privacy-focused search engine DuckDuckGo have revealed statistics for August 2020. It turned out that the search engine set a new record, having processed more than two billion searches.

The developers also boasted four million installs of apps and extensions, and reported that DuckDuckGo has over 65 million active users to date.
Edition Bleeping computer notes that while Google is still the most popular search engine, DuckDuckGo is gaining more popularity as more users start to think about their privacy online (especially amid the privacy scandals of Google and other large companies).
But against the background of Google, the success of DuckDuckGo still looks very modest: the private search engine still controls only 2% of the total search market in the United States.
