Users report that trying to access the admin page, they are either redirected to the password reset page, or they see an error message and are denied access. And while owners of routers hardly need daily access to device administration, owners of Netgear NAS were in an unenviable position, as they could not perform any operations with files stored on the device, and this makes the NAS useless when working with the latest version of Chrome.
It is not yet clear what exactly went wrong and why the login pages suddenly “broke”, but Netgear developers said that they were already working to fix this problem and promised to release firmware updates in the near future. While device owners are encouraged to use other browsers for administration, since the problem does not apply to Firefox or Edge.
