Journalists Vice motherboard noticed that Amazon is warning some customers of a data breach that eventually fired several employees.
The publication has at its disposal a copy of the letter that Amazon has been sending to the victims in recent days. The document states that an unnamed employee of the company transferred the email addresses of users to a third party, thereby violating company rules. It is reported that at present this person has already been fired, and information about the incident has been transferred to law enforcement agencies that are investigating the incident.
At the same time, Amazon representatives told reporters that because of this "leak" more than one person was fired: we are talking about several layoffs, that is, it seems that the person who leaked the data had accomplices.
The company declined to comment on the incident and did not even specify how many people suffered as a result of this data leak.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Amazon employees have been caught doing this. For example, at the beginning of this year it became known that at least four former employees of the company abused their access and watched videos from custom Ring cameras.
